Google
could soon launched the next generation of the successful Nexus 7 tablet. CNET
reports that a Korean analyst claimed that the screen makers for the device are
preparing to begin the supply of the display for the new Nexus 7 Tablet in
June.
IHS
researcher Ricky Park who named the tablet as the Nexus II, says it will be
equipped with a better Full HD 1920 x 1200 pixel screen. If Ricky prediction
turn out to be right on the card, it mark a very significant upgrade over the
original Nexus 7’s 1280×800-pixel display. With the new pixel density of 323
pixel per inch, it can go on par with Apple’s Retina Display.
The Full
HD display for the 2nd generation Nexus 7 tablet would be made by
Japan Display and APU although the device will be built by rather unfamiliar
Taiwanese manufacture Quanta. Google for some reason left out Asus although the
company was the manufacturer of the first Nexus 7.
Park also
expects the Nexus 7 II to be on sale in the third quarter of the year. Taiwan’s
DigiTimes expects to show up even earlier – somewhere in July itself, and a
16GB version will run around $229 (estimated RM720).
The
expected price is almost double the price of the Original Nexus 7 which go on
sale in US for $199 while the Malaysian version was retailed around RM 1099 at
launch.
Goole had
traditionally used the Nexus line-up to introduce the new version of its
Android and with Google leaving the new Android OS altogether at Android I/O,
we could also be looking at a July/August launch date for new Android 5.0.
